01 / About Platinum Sport 2000

About Platinum Sport 2000

Platinum Sport 2000 uses ECU Manager and supports 32 × 32 fuel maps, internal logging, idle and boost control. Up to 12 injector and six ignition functions can be assigned, with some sharing physical pins; choose the combination for the actual engine strategy.

32 × 32 mapping with adjustable load and RPM axes.

Haltech ECU Manager configuration through USB.

Assign injection, ignition and auxiliary control strategies according to the physical pins.

Onboard and laptop logging with configurable sensor inputs.

Fitment & installation: Haltech Platinum Sport 2000

  1. Check the model, hardware revision and connector pins against the device’s wiring diagram.

  2. Use the exact ECU wiring diagram; verify every circuit for continuity and shorts before connecting power.

  3. Use the matching Platinum Sport pin allocations and fuse / relay drawing. A base map is a starting point and must be checked against the actual injectors, coils and trigger system.

  4. Use an appropriate ignition amplifier for passive coils. Check shared IGN / INJ / DPO assignments and the 800 mA DPO limit against the official pin table.

05 / Questions about Platinum Sport 2000

Questions about Platinum Sport 2000

Does Sport 2000 use Haltech NSP?

Platinum uses ECU Manager with matching platform firmware, not Elite or Nexus software packages.

Does Sport 2000 cylinder support imply sequential ignition on every cylinder?

No. There are 6 ignition outputs. Higher cylinder-count applications depend on distributor or wasted-spark arrangements and the available injector strategy.

Does Sport 2000 have twelve independent ignition outputs?

No. The maximum six ignition and twelve injector assignments include shared pins such as IGN5 / INJ8 and IGN6 / INJ7. Each shared pin supports one function at a time.

Can a Sport 2000 loom be reused on Elite or Nexus unchanged?

Do not assume cross-platform wiring compatibility. Compare the exact ECU pin allocations, power circuits, output types and sensor inputs before reusing any loom or adapter.

Does Sport 2000 include a tune for a particular engine?

The ECU model and its programmable maps do not define a vehicle calibration. Confirm any supplied file separately and match it to the engine, trigger system, injectors and ignition hardware before use.

Can all Platinum Sport 2000 fuel, ignition and auxiliary counts be added together?

No. Optional injector, ignition and auxiliary functions may share physical pins and cannot drive separate loads simultaneously. Allocate each pin for the exact model before counting spare channels.

Can Platinum Sport 2000 ignition outputs be connected directly to passive coils?

No. Coils without built-in igniters require external power igniters or CDI. ECU ignition outputs control the power stage, not coil operating current.

Can a Platinum Sport 2000 DPO directly power a large fuel pump?

No. Each DPO is a ground-switching output limited to 800 mA. Pumps and other high-current loads need a suitable relay or power driver with a separate protected power supply.

Can Platinum Sport 2000 use original engine sensors?

Many may be used if their signal type, voltage range and calibration match the ECU input. Confirm the air/coolant thermistor curve, TPS endpoints, pressure scale and trigger pattern separately; retaining the connector does not establish the calibration.

Can Platinum Sport 2000 be tuned by TPS rather than MAP?

Load can use TPS throttle position or MAP manifold pressure. Choose for the intake and engine behaviour, then configure compensations; TPS load still requires other sensors to be checked.

Does Platinum Sport 2000 need a laptop connected for every log?

No. Sport 2000 can record internally under the configured conditions and download the logs through ECU Manager afterwards. Continuous PC logging requires the USB connection to remain active.

Can Platinum Sport 2000 run every advertised auxiliary feature at once?

No. Idle, boost, VVT and fans each use I/O, sometimes shared. List functions that must operate together before assigning channels.
