Applicability
FIC controller selection
Confirm the actual controller
F/IC6 intercepts six injector signals; F/IC8 intercepts eight. Both retain the factory ECU. Check the wiring, auxiliary features and software settings for the exact model.
Boost and signal functions
F/IC8 adds boost-solenoid PWM and frequency-signal functions, while remaining a piggyback controller. Choose by the number of injector signals to intercept and the sensor signals that need correction.
Harnesses and PC connection
F/IC6 and F/IC8 harnesses and pin assignments are not directly interchangeable. Check crank, cam, injector and load signals circuit by circuit, and use matching software, USB drivers and a communication cable.
Output limits and logging
F/IC6 has a 6 A SW12 limit and 64 KB logging memory; F/IC8 has a 1 A SW12 limit and 2 MB logging memory. Check load requirements and recording duration as well as injector-channel count.
Checklist & example
- Record each controller’s model, hardware revision and nameplate information separately.
- List the required injector, trigger and sensor-signal connections for each model.
- Keep the two harness and package lists separate; do not assume either kit supplies the other’s parts.
