Applicability
Universal and vehicle-specific wiring
Which type of harness?
A main loom connects the ECU to engine components. A vehicle adapter mates with the existing wiring; a bypass plug restores specified intercepted circuits. Loose connectors and PC tuning cables serve different jobs.
Connectors, pins and length
Use both the controller manual and the vehicle wiring diagram. The loom needs the right connections at each end and enough length for the installation route.
- Target ECU and hardware revision.
- Connector housing and pin assignment at both ends.
- Cable length, branch locations and installation route.
- Confirm whether terminals, seals and backshells are included, and whether the vehicle end is already terminated.
What comes with the ECU?
Before buying a separate harness, read the ECU package list. Loose connector pins still need assembly, and a vehicle adapter needs the exact vehicle and factory ECU specification.
Checklist & example
- Choose the loom type: main harness, vehicle adapter, bypass plug or loose connector set.
- List both endpoints, including the ECU and the factory loom or engine component.
- Physical scope: length, branches, terminals, termination method and quantity.
