01 / About Xtreme X

About Xtreme X

XtremeX offers eight injector and eight ignition drives for eight-cylinder or four-rotor sequential control. Electronic throttle, dual CAN and extensive I/O suit complex engine installations; wideband measurement requires a compatible external controller.

G4X platform with 8 injection and 8 ignition outputs.

512 MB logging, up to 250 channels.

Flex fuel, VVT and closed-loop boost with assigned I/O.

E-throttle and dual CAN; CAN2 shares two digital inputs.

04 / Fitment & installation: Link Xtreme X ECU

Fitment & installation: Link Xtreme X ECU

  1. Check the model, hardware revision and connector pins against the device’s wiring diagram.

  2. Check hardware and firmware revisions, logging memory and shared input allocation.

  3. Use the exact ECU wiring diagram; verify every circuit for continuity and shorts before connecting power.

  4. Choose PCLink for the correct G4+ or G4X generation. Set the trigger mode, synchronise base timing and allocate I/O before enabling boost, VVT or throttle control.

  5. Install the matching PCLink USB drivers before the first connection, then complete the model-specific installer I/O table before powering actuators.

05 / Questions about Xtreme X

Questions about Xtreme X

What separates XtremeX from FuryX?

FuryX has six ignition drives and onboard digital wideband; XtremeX has eight ignition drives and needs external wideband control. Their analogue-input counts also differ.

Does using CAN2 change the available digital inputs?

Yes. CAN2 occupies two digital-input pins. Deduct them from available inputs before allocating speed, switch and ethanol signals.

What is the XtremeX fully sequential control range?

XtremeX supports fully sequential injection and direct ignition for up to eight cylinders or four rotors. Match triggers, injector type, ignition hardware and I/O requirements.

Does XtremeX need an external wideband controller?

XtremeX needs a compatible external wideband controller via analogue or CAN. A bare LSU sensor cannot connect directly to an ordinary 0–5 V input.

Does 100 kHz XtremeX logging apply to each channel?

Link describes 100 kHz as the maximum total logging rate across the selected channels. Channel settings and hardware limits determine each signal rate and recording duration.

Can XtremeX operate continuously at 36 V?

Normal operation is 6.5–24 V; 36 V is the maximum input limit. Design the supply and protection for the normal range, not continuous 36 V operation.

Does XtremeX dual closed-loop lambda mean two built-in sensor drivers?

No. Dual closed-loop lambda is a control function using valid measured lambda channels. It is separate from the number of onboard wideband controllers. FuryX has one internal LSU 4.9 interface; XtremeX and MonsoonX need appropriate external wideband hardware.

Can a 12 V sensor output be wired to a XtremeX analogue voltage input?

No. XtremeX analogue-voltage inputs accept 0–5 V. Check the sensor’s actual output range and use a suitable signal-conditioning interface for higher voltages; a 12 V supply does not necessarily mean a 12 V signal.

Can spare XtremeX injector and ignition outputs become auxiliary outputs?

The quick-start guide allows spare injection and ignition channels to be assigned to auxiliary functions. Their electrical driver limits still apply, and a channel already assigned to ignition or injection cannot simultaneously serve another load.

Where is the full XtremeX wiring manual?

The PDF quick-start guide provides the model I/O and pin map. The complete wiring, function and software help is included in the matching PCLink generation and opens with F1. Use both the pin map and the function-specific help when assigning the harness.

Why can an original XtremeX connect to PCLink but show no engine RPM?

In addition to trigger wiring and configuration, check the ECU enable/lock status. The Link quick-start guide states original new ECUs may be configured while locked but will not read engine RPM or run an engine until enabled. Confirm the actual supplied hardware’s status rather than assuming a wiring fault.

Are all ten XtremeX auxiliary outputs free with E-throttle enabled?

No. The throttle motor uses Aux 9 and Aux 10. Count those channels in the throttle allocation before assigning pumps, fans, boost solenoids or other functions; the headline ten-output count includes those motor channels.
